Reflection

Astro was the first piece of work I did. I was inspired by Isa Genzken who created three colourful paintings with different layers and colours using tape. I wanted to somehow use tape in my work to create clean lines. I like how the lines are placed across my work but next time I would also put them in different directions. To include some colour I used leaves from outside and printed them onto the painting in different colours. I wanted to add something different and this came to mind after I had collected my 3d objects. I would have liked to use more leaves and in more colours if I did this again. I painted the background black because of the original astronaut in space idea but I think it would have been nicer maybe in blue. Also, I would have liked to develop it more by experimenting with different layers and shapes with different colours popping out in each. I don't like the twigs and leaves I added because I think it doesn't really fit. However, I do like how I cut out their face and stuck text from a newspaper behind it because it stands out and looks different. Overall, I think this painting could have been better and I lost my way a bit. I would have liked to have incorporated more of Isa Genzken style in this work but if I do it again I will experiment more.
